Sweet chili jerk wings are jerk chicken wings baked to crispy perfection and then coated in spicy sweet chili sauce for a satisfying entree. Make them for game day, a barbeque, a potluck, or a casual weeknight dinner.
0 Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with a baking rack, parchment paper or aluminum foil. (I like to use a rack for oven baked wings) .
1 Start by cleaning and patting dry the chicken wings. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, jerk seasoning, avocado oil (or olive oil), salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, jerk seasoning. Toss the chicken wings in the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.
5 When ready to bake, toss the wings in cornstarch right before placing them in the oven.
2 Place the marinated wings on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the wings are golden brown and crispy. Flip the wings halfway through the cooking time for an even crispiness.
3 While the chicken wings are baking, prepare the sweet chili sauce by combining all the ingredients for the sauce in a saucepan and simmer for about 2 minutes.
4 Once the wings are done transfer them to a large mixing bowl and toss them in the sweet chili sauce.
6 Arrange them on a platter and get ready to watch them disappear in no time! Serve your sweet chili jerk wings with additional sweet chili sauce or a cooling dip like ranch or blue cheese dressing to balance out the heat.
